Recreation space in the 95,000 square foot Walter Payton Center includes cardio exercise equipment, strength machines, free weights, 3 basketball courts, 3 racquetball courts, 1 squash court, and 4 fitness studios. Adjacent to the center are 12 outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor track, and 2 outdoor sport fields.
The Walther Payton Center is located at 34 Walter Payton Drive, Jackson MS 39217 on the JSU main campus.
YMCA - Flowood
The Flowood branch of the Metropolitan YMCAs of Mississippi is a 70,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. The cardio/weight studio filled with clean and well-maintained free weights, weight machines, television outfitted treadmills and elliptical machines and an indoor walking/running track is just down the hall.
